To promote the appreciation of Edo Kiriko, the association we belong to has designated July 5th as the official “Edo Kiriko Day” in Japan.
The date is a Japanese wordplay inspired by the traditional “Nanako” pattern, as the numbers 7 (“nana”) and 5 (“go”) combine to sound like “nanako.”
